Description
The back of this vintage postcard tells us that this is the oldest fort in America, built by deLuna in the middle of the 16th century with 10 old gun mounts still intact. Probably the only fort in American which can boast of seven battles. It rests now southwest of and adjoining the large fort.
A little research tells us it was built between 1559 and 1560 originally as a Spanish outpost. Now what remains is believed to be located near Fort Morgan.
This vintage postcard is unused and is in excellent condition.
