The vintage postcard RPPC undivided back postcard features a very old photo of the Victorian Era Jersey Shore Boardwalk in Asbury Park New Jersey. Again, people are dressed in their finest as they spend the day at the Jersey Shore. Men in elegant suits and hats, women in their long gowns, many with fancy hats and parasols to shade them from the summer sun. Not the most summer friendly outfits but it was the style at the time and still they flocked to the boardwalk and enjoyed a day “at the shore”.
This very old undivided back RPPC vintage postcard is used, writing is in pencil front and back as was proper for an undivided postcard – message goes on the front and there are proper postal machine markings front and back. Features a green 1 cent Benjamin Franklin stamp, and two postmarks – one from New York and one from California.
This vintage postcard is in very good condition for its age – yes there are creases on the right hand side both top and bottom, no doubt from handling as it made its way across the United States. This only adds to the provenance of such a rare and beautiful postcard.
