Description

The vintage postcard features Buffalo Bill’s Original Barn and Scouts Rest Ranch in North Platte Nebraska.

The back of the postcard tells us: Buffalo Bill’s Scouts Rest Ranch is a State Historical Park located in North Platte Nebraska. The barn is 148 feet long, 70 feet high and 40 feet high. It was built in 1887 and was used to winter the animals from Buffalo Bill’s World Famous Wild West Show. Posters from the show are still to be seen on the walls of the barn. The famous gunstock rafters are still under the eaves.

Color photo by Larry Witt. Published by Dunlap-Henline Co. Omaha Nebraska.

This vintage postcard is unused, and is in excellent condition. Because the address of Dunlap on the back is using a zip code, I’m dating this to be around 1970.
